II Mazovian Transport Congress
On June 15, 2026, the 2nd Mazovian Transport Congress will be held at the Institute of Technology and Exploitation in Radom. This event will bring together representatives from public administration, academia, and the transport sector. Among the co-organizers of the congress are PKP S.A., the Radom branch of the Association of Communication Engineers and Technicians of the Republic of Poland (SITK RP), and Łukasiewicz – Institute of Technology and Exploitation.
The congress was the first joint conference venture of the organizers after the signing of the framework cooperation agreement between PKP S.A. and the Radom academic community on April 19th. The agreement assumes a systematic exchange of experience and knowledge, which is to support the implementation of innovative solutions in railway infrastructure management and the development of vocational training.
One of the agenda items is the signing of a cooperation agreement between PKP S.A. and the Kazimierz Pułaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom. The document will be signed by Dariusz Grajda, Vice-President of the Management Board of PKP S.A., and Dr. Eng. Tomasz Perzyński, Dean of the Faculty of Transport, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Radom.
The development of a modern transport system for the Masovian Voivodeship requires effective integration of individual infrastructure branches and the creation of long-term transport plans. As PKP S.A., we recognize the importance of these actions and consistently support initiatives aimed at strengthening the role of railways in the integrated transport system in Masovia. – emphasizes Dariusz Grajda, Vice President of the Management Board of PKP S.A.
The agreement opens up new opportunities for cooperation in development and research for the railway industry. It provides for the implementation of joint scientific and research projects, the preparation of analyses and expert opinions, the organization of study visits, as well as activities supporting the development of students' competencies and their preparation for professional work.
– The future of transport is being created where vision, knowledge, and responsibility can be combined – this is the platform offered by the II Masovian Transport Congress. This event is a joint search for answers to the question of how to build transportation that will be safe, modern, and accessible for future generations. – says Dr. hab. eng. Tomasz Perzyński, Professor at the University of Radom, Dean of the Faculty of Transport, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Radom.
The congress program will also include presentations on strategic directions of transport development. Filip Chrzanowski, Director of the Strategy Division at PKP S.A., will present issues related to adapting railway stations to serve as shelters for the population and discuss financing opportunities for such investments. He will also address the topic of developing TEN-T network intermodal terminals in Mazovia.
– Radom, thanks to its favorable location and developing transport infrastructure, has significant logistical potential. In the dual-use perspective, the railway can service civilian transport while simultaneously providing support for security, infrastructure resilience, and efficient crisis response. Leveraging this fact strengthens Radom's position as an important transport and logistics hub in the Mazovian Voivodeship, as well as in the country. – says Filip Chrzanowski, Director of the PKP S.A. Strategy Division.
This year's edition of the event focuses on key infrastructure projects being implemented in the region. Discussions covered, among others, the expansion of the highway network, national and provincial roads, the development of civil and military aviation, as well as plans for the construction of modern intermodal terminals and further expansion of the railway network.
– Radom's geographical location, both historical and current, is a significant asset due to its position at the crossroads of important transportation routes connecting central, southern, and eastern Poland. Proximity to Warsaw, as well as access to expressways, rail connections, and a modern airport, foster economic development, investment, and resident mobility. – emphasizes Dr. Adam Duszyk, Director of Łukasiewicz – Industrial Research Institute (ITEE) in Radom.
Key elements of the debate will also include issues related to dual-use infrastructure and the training of specialized personnel for High-Speed Rail projects. In this context, the importance of the scientific and research potential of the Radom University and the Institute of Exploitation Technology as partners supporting the development of modern transport and innovative solutions for the railway sector will be highlighted.
