Key Visual
On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of railways worldwide and the 100th anniversary of PKP, two key visuals were created. One depicts the history of railways – from their beginnings to the present day, symbolically shown against the backdrop of Warsaw Central Station. The famous illustrator Jan Kallwejt was invited to create the second design. Both key visuals accompany the anniversary events and emphasize the importance of railways in the development of Poland and the world.

Anniversary celebrations
The year 2026 has been declared the „Year of Polish Railways” by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. The deputies unanimously adopted this decision, thereby expressing their gratitude to all those who have built Polish railway transport over the decades. Railways play a key role in economic, social, and security spheres. They not only connect regions, large cities, and smaller towns, transport people to work, school, vacations, or to loved ones, and carry goods. They serve a strategic function and are the lifeblood of every modern state.
