CELEBRATING
ANNIVERSARY
Dear Travelers and Railway Enthusiasts, on September 27, 1825, the first passenger steam train journey in England took place on the Stockton–Darlington route. This event marked the beginning of the modern transportation era, revolutionizing mobility, the economy, and the way people and cities connect.
A new chapter began in Poland on September 24, 1926, when the Polish State Railways were established by decree of President Ignacy Mościcki. On that day, the legal and administrative status of the enterprise was regulated, and it henceforth became one of the pillars of the Polish economy.
Today, on the 200th anniversary of the birth of railways worldwide and the 100th anniversary of PKP, both anniversaries present a unique opportunity for a joint celebration. We invite you to read the inaugural letter for the anniversary celebrations.
