All of Poland Reads to Children at PKP Stations

Starting May 26, the spaces of railway stations in Gdańsk, Przemyśl, Rzeszów, and Wrocław, as well as the Museum Station located in the former Warszawa Główna station building, will transform into venues for shared reading for the youngest. Preschoolers and students from institutions collaborating with the „Whole Poland Reads to Children” Foundation, whose mission is to support the emotional well-being of children and youth, will participate in the event. The nationwide campaign will be inaugurated with a reading of Julian Tuwim's „Lokomotywa” at the Museum Station, where children will not only listen to excerpts from the poem but also learn interesting facts about railways and the work of railway employees.

– The "Reading to Children" initiative is another program that proves train stations are no longer just points on a railway map, but also spaces for meeting, sharing emotions, and building intergenerational bonds. In the centenary year of PKP, we particularly emphasize that the railway is not just infrastructure, but everyday experiences that connect people and create memories, sometimes lifelong ones. – emphasizes Natalia Wykrota, Director of the Communication Office at PKP S.A.

The event partner is PKP, which provides station spaces for reading meetings and promotes the initiative on its information carriers. This year's edition of the event is unique – it takes place in the year of the 100th anniversary of Polish State Railways and aligns with the anniversary slogan: „Connecting People, Places, and Stories.” The initiative emphasizes the importance of shared reading for children's development, relationship building, and strengthening family and social bonds.
