The renovated train station in Czechowice-Dziedzice is open to travelers.

Polish State Railways S.A. has completed the renovation of the historic station in Czechowice-Dziedzice. The facility now boasts a comfortable passenger service area, a renewed facade, a new platform canopy, and a redeveloped surrounding area. The investment was valued at over PLN 61.5 million, with over PLN 47.7 million financed by the state budget. On April 9, 2026, during the station's grand opening ceremony, a plaque commemorating an important event related to Ferdinand Foch, Marshal of Poland, will also be unveiled.

Construction work has completely transformed the appearance of the railway station building, which was built between 1853-1855 and reconstructed at the beginning of the 20th century. The facility underwent a true „revolution,” thanks to which the historic appearance of its facade was restored, in accordance with the recommendations of the heritage conservator. Architectural details and some historical elements, including attics and the platform canopy, were recreated. The bas-relief with the railway symbol above the main entrance was also renovated. New accents, although styled historically, include lamps on the facade and clocks on the platform side and in the main hall. Additionally, illuminated signs with the station name and PKP S.A. logos were installed. The facade has been maintained in light, sandy colors, and the roof has been covered with zinc sheet metal.

The travelers' service area is located in the building's lobby, which also serves as a waiting room, with an area of more than 150 square meters. It is a comfortable, air-conditioned and heated space combining historical character with modern equipment. Inside, the historic floor and ceiling were renovated. There were also electronic boards of train arrivals and departures, display cases with timetables and benches with the possibility of charging mobile devices. In turn, near the lobby, rooms were located for ticket offices, toilets and a small unit for commercial leasing. The remodeled building, which has a usable area of more than 4,000 square meters, will also house a Railway Guard station and server rooms for telecommunications operators. However, much of the space in the building will be occupied by the local government - there will be a Social Services Center and a city museum, whose main exhibition hall will be a historic restaurant room with an interesting coffered-vaulted ceiling. New features in the building's surroundings include a bicycle shelter for about 12 single-track vehicles and parking spaces for people with limited mobility near the station's west wing.

During the ceremonial opening of the building to passengers, a plaque will be unveiled commemorating the event of May 2, 1923, when Ferdinand Foch, an important figure in Polish history, received the baton of Marshal of Poland from Kazimierz Sosnkowski at the train station in Czechowice. The unveiling of the plaque will be attended by, among others, Paweł Lisiewicz – Member of the Management Board of PKP S.A.; Etienne de Poncins – Ambassador of France to Poland; Marek Wójcik – Silesian Governor; Leszek Obracaj – Councillor of the Bielsko-Biała District; Marian Błachut – Mayor of Czechowice-Dziedzice; the initiator of the commemorative plaque – Andrzej Seweryn Mauberg, Chairman of the Association of Knights of the Legion of Honor and the National Order of Merit, and Andrzej Roehrich – President of the Society of Friends of Czechowice-Dziedzice.
