Theater and rail will meet at the Wrocław Main Station
On selected days in August, the historic Session Hall at the Wrocław Główny railway station will once again become a unique theatrical stage. As part of the third edition of the „Po Kolei” Theatre Summer Stage project, the historic interior of the station will be filled with performances that combine theatre, performance art, music, and visual arts, creating an unparalleled artistic experience.
Polish State Railways (PKP S.A.) is once again making the Session Room of the Wrocław Main Station available for the implementation of an art project, confirming that railway stations play a role not only as important transport hubs, but also as spaces friendly to the development of culture and the local community. On selected days in August – August 13-14 and 20-21 – theatrical performances will take place on the first floor of the building, featuring well-known Polish artists: Andrzej Chyra, Maja Ostaszewska, Jacek Braciak, Justyna Szafran, Adam Woronowicz, and Olga Sarzyńska. On each of the mentioned days, the shows will begin at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
– Being one of the largest real estate managers in Poland means not only responsibility for buildings, but also for how they are used. Wrocław Główny remains primarily a railway station, but its historic interiors can serve the city in other ways. By making the Session Hall available to the „Po Kolei” theater, we are once again opening an exceptional space to residents and travelers. Thanks to such events, the station is not just a place you pass through, but a place worth stopping at – says Andrzej Bułczyński, member of the PKP S.A. management board responsible for real estate.
This year's repertoire includes plays directed by Tomasz Man that address important social issues. The program features three performances: „The Train Driver”, „The Story of a Certain Love”, and „The Island”. The play „The Train Driver”, presented on August 13-14 at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, is a psychological drama about responsibility and the limits of the human psyche. A week later, on August 20, audiences will be able to see „The Story of a Certain Love” – a moving tale about feelings and the power of human bonds. Meanwhile, on August 21, also at the same times, „The Island” will take to the stage, exploring the complicated nature of love.
Half an hour before each performance, a free guided tour of the BWA Wrocław Główny exhibition „Dark Paradise. Inner Stories” will be available.
The co-organizers of the event are BWA Wrocław and PKP S.A. Tickets are available, among others, on the biletyna platform: https://biletyna.pl/spektakl/Scena-Letnia-Teatru-Po-Kolei
